Introduction

CITEC is a one-stop Centre of excellence for training in information Technology, from International certification through locally approved certification, accelerated and tailored courses to consultancy in various aspects of Information and Communications Technology, management and education. When SMART TELECOM Ltd is operational, in Cameroon, CITEC will be its independent training Centre.
Training and consultancies are offered in English and in French,  consistent with the bilingual nature of Cameroon.

 

Objectives of CITEC

	To promote IT literacy and awareness thus alleviating poverty as well  as fostering development in areas where CITEC operates in Cameroon
	To promote access of young Cameroonians to high quality IT education
	To encourage income generation through work self - empowerment for graduates
	To train individuals in basic computing so that they can be better prepared for the job market whose orientation towards IT assisted operations is becoming more and more obvious
	To train teachers and educators who will in turn educate the general public on the usefulness of this technology
	To provide computer awareness in children attending schools with a view to giving them counseling and orientation towards professions in information technology
	To provide interested individuals with the knowledge and practical skills to enable them adequately prepared to write internal and international examinations (e.g. CISCO, MCSA, MCSE, COMPtia, City and Guilds etc) and obtain certification in different areas of information technology
	To provide accelerated and tailored courses, seminars and conferences and consultancy in all areas of IT in order to vulgarize its use
	To provide managerial skills in domains like project planning and management, business administration and human resource management
